If you know me, you know I LOVE birthdays, especially my own. Oprah Winfrey once said: “The more you celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
However, this year I realize how blessed I truly am. I don’t need one designated day (or month for that matter 😉 ) to realize the love that surrounds me. So this year I celebrated my loved ones and the community around us.
A year ago, I came across a woman who dedicated her 38th birthday to doing random acts of kindness to others. As word of her project began to grow she started The Birthday Project (www.thebirthdayproject.com). I was inspired.
From June 1st to the 25th, I completed 25 Acts of Kindness (with the last one happening at lunch today!). I am overwhelmed by the love and joy that has come back to me in twofolds.
And now it is your turn. I am asking that each of you to do ONE (random or not) Act of Kindness today.
I am looking to get at least 25 more Acts of Kindness. You can find some ideas from the woman who started this idea, or from the ones I have completed already. Some other easy ideas: let someone in front of you if you’re sitting in traffic, buy coffee for the person behind you in line, lend a hand to someone carrying too many bags.
Let’s make some people smile!
Love this! Simple, profound, amazing.
